Carrying on with her interview with The Boombox, Nicki Minaj discusses what made her collaborate with Ciara on a song called “I’m Legit” that will appear on her forthcoming Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded – The Re-Up album, dropping on November 19th. Nicki says it was her who reached out to Ciara to work on a song together and “she nailed the hook times 10”.
“My fans had been asking me to work with her for a long time so I thought it’d be kinda cute. I’ve always thought Ciara was so dope. Let’s face it, she’s probably one of the best dancers that we’ve had in our generation, you know what I mean. So that alone just makes her very iconic.”
“When I heard how she did the hook of the record… it’s like she nailed it so crazy and we had been listening to the reference track. We were afraid that whoever would end up singing it wouldn’t really sing it exactly how we wanted it to sound, but she nailed it times 10.”
In related news, Ciara also confirmed to MTV that the Young Money Barbie will be appearing on her upcoming One Woman Army album, which is due to drop in early 2013. This means that fans can be looking out for two new Minaj and Ciara records to be released in the future!
“It was actually something I’ve been wanting to do for a while, and she reached out to me to do something and then it just worked out. Now we’re gonna be doing two songs so it’s gonna be fun.”
