Drake Receives His MTV VMA Award From Lil Wayne In Boston, Gives A Speech

Drake won the “Hip-Hop Video Of The Year” award for his Hold On, We’re Going Home” visual featuring Majid Jordan at the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards in Inglewood, California on August 24th.

However, Drizzy was unable to make it to the awards show as he is currently on tour with Lil Wayne, so last night on stage at the Xfinity Center in Massachusetts, he gave his acceptance speech.

With Tunechi presenting him his award, Drizzy Drake thanked God, his mother and Wayne, as well as confirmed “Hold On, We’re Going Home” is not a hip-hop song. He also called Tune “Common” after it was Common who announced that he had won at the VMAs on Sunday.

You can watch footage of the speech in the video after the jump below!
