According to AMC Theatres, a movie based on Drake‘s sold out show at the Sound Academy in Toronto, Canada back in 2009 before he signed to Young Money will be released on March 19th.
The 2-hour-long film has took so long to come out, because the footage was believed to be lost and destroyed. It is also set to include interviews with James Prince, Jas Prince, Bun B, and others.
You can watch a trailer for “Drake: Homecoming” after the jump below! What’s interesting is that Jas says in the preview: “Wayne told me he sucked, he was like: ‘Jas don’t play me that shit no more, it’s not good'”.
Fathom Events and Specticast are thrilled to present DRAKE: HOMECOMING in theatres nationwide. This live sold out concert filmed at Toronto’s Sound Academy in 2009 prior to Drake signing with Lil Wayne’s Young Money imprint through Cash Money/Universal, was believed lost and destroyed. After its recent rediscovery, additional production and footage was added to the concert film including interviews with James Prince and his son Jas Prince. The latter is credited with the actual discovery of Drake and bringing him to the attention of Little Wayne who went on to sign the global superstar to his Young Money imprint. The soundtrack includes the international smashes, “Best I Ever Had” & “Successful”. This event is only one night on Thursday, March 19th.

Drake had this shit all planned out for years and you can tell, I lmean just look at the title the movie “Drakes Coming Home” ok now listen to his mixtape so called album as he rants about not being happy with being signed to cash money and not being paid. He said in a few songs I’m heading home and he afraid he may not live to make it home and even on his album before that he has a hit called coming home my point is he really knows since they wasn’t paying him and he was only getting from shows and tours and hosting parties/performing that he could get his name big as wayne make a movie documentary and put it years later on iTunes for prob 20 bucks but this what he knew if he gave baby four albums he could do this without having to get ripped off by birdman, because simple reason his contract with cash money only states that him wayne owed the label 4 albums a peice. Pure Genuis !
