According to Billboard, Drizzy Drake becomes the first ever rapper to top their Artist 100 chart thanks to his new project, If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late! He had previously only ever been as high as #13 on the chart.
The Artist 100 is a weekly survey that measures data from various Billboard charts such as Hot 100, Top Album Sales, and Social 50 for music artists. The data includes album and track sales, radio airplay, streaming, and fan interaction on social media.
As well as being the first rapper, Drake is also the third R&B/hip-hop artist to appear on top with the other two artists being Chris Brown and Trey Songz. The four artists now behind Drizzy on the Artist 100 chart are: Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, Sam Smith, and Maroon 5.
