Marvel Has Paired Silver Surfer With Drake For Their Hip Hop Variant Artwork

Marvel have been reworking various hip-hop album covers with some of their superheroes for their huge refresh of their classic comic book titles. You can see their Lil Wayne and Spider-Man comic cover here.

The Editor In Chief of Marvel Comics, Axel Alonso, has said that he wants to pay tribute to hip-hop as they are both popular threads of pop culture, as well as that he is a fan of the genre, grew up listening to it, and draws his inspiration from it.

One of the hip-hop album artworks that Marvel have paid homage to is Drake‘s Nothing Was The Same cover with their fictional superhero Silver Surfer. You can view the variant artwork that was created by Cliff Chiang above, courtesy of MTV!
