Drake Receives 3 New RIAA Certifications For Songs Off 3 Different Albums

On August 14th, Drake received 3 new certifications from the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America).

Drizzy‘s “Gyalchester” off More Life reached Platinum status, “Legend” off If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late reached double Platinum status, and “Controlla” off VIEWS reached triple Platinum status.

Drake Brings Out Nelly, Migos, Cardi B, Playboi Carti, Tory Lanez & More At 2017 OVO Fest In Toronto

The 8th annual OVO Festival took place at the Budweiser Stage (formerly the Molson Canadian Amphitheatre) in Toronto, Ontario, Canada yesterday (August 7th).

During this year’s concert, Drake brought out Nelly, Migos, Rae Sremmurd, French Montana, The Weeknd, Cardi B, Playboi Carti, Travis $cott, Tory Lanez, PARTYNEXTDOOR, Baka, and more music artists to perform live.

After bringing out Tory to perform his “Controlla” remix, the 6 God confirmed they no longer have beef by saying: “Me and this guy right here. We had problems with each other… we had never even met each other. I met the man, and he’s a great guy”.

Drake & Nicki Minaj Are Both Nominated At The 2017 iHeartRadio Music Awards

The nominations for the 2017 iHeartRadio Music Awards have been announced (see below) and Young Money artists Drake and Nicki Minaj both picked up nods.

Nicki was nominated in the “Best Music Video” category for “Side To Side” and Drake earned a total of 12 nominations in the categories: “Song of the Year” for “One Dance“, “Male Artist of the Year”, “Hip-Hop Song of the Year” for “Controlla“, “For Free” and “One Dance“, “Hip-Hop Artist of the Year”, “R&B Song of the Year” for “Work“, “Best Lyrics” for “Too Good“, “Best Collaboration” for “Work“, “Best Music Video” for “Work“, “Most Thumbed Up Artist”, and “Most Thumbed Up Song”.

This year’s iHeartRadio Music Awards will be taking place from The Forum in Inglewood, California on Sunday, March 5th and be broadcasted live on TBS, TNT, and truTV at 8PM EST/5PM PST, as well as the iHeartRadio stations and app!

Drake has been nominated a total of 12 times at this year’s Soul Train Awards, which will air on television November 27th at 8:00PM.

The 6 God earned nominations in the categories “Video Of The Year”, “Album/Mixtape Of The Year”, “Rhythm & Bars Award”, “Song Of The Year”, “Best Dance Performance”, and “Best Collaboration”.

Drake Releases His Please Forgive Me Film Starring Himself, Popcaan, Kyla, Fanny Neguesha & More

Drake has released his “Please Forgive Me” film five days earlier than he first announced via Apple Music. The 23-minute short movie, which was inspired by The Bourne Identity and Taken, was filmed in Johannesburg, South Africa back in July.

In the Anthony Mandler-directed visual, there are appearances from Popcaan, Kyla Reid, Fanny Neguesha, and others. Noah “40” Shebib also scored the film, so of course there are plenty of Drizzy songs from his Views album throughout it, such as “One Dance“, “Controlla“, “Pop Style“, “Hype“, and more.

Drake One Dance Single Is Spotify Most Streamed Song Of This Summer

According to Spotify‘s data, Drake‘s “One Dance” single off his VIEWS album featuring Kyla and Wizkid is the “song of the summer”.

The streaming service has revealed its top 10 songs of this summer in both the United States of America and globally, which both included Drizzy‘s “One Dance” in the top spot.

As well as “One Dance“, the 6 God‘s “Controlla” and “Too Good” featuring Rihanna also appear in the Spotify lists. You can check out the 2 lists of most-streamed tracks this summer below!
