David Guetta, Nicki Minaj, Bebe Rexha & Afrojack Hey Mama Single Goes Triple Platinum

According to the RIAA, David Guetta‘s “Hey Mama” single featuring Nicki Minaj, Bebe Rexha and Afrojack was certified triple Platinum on March 19th.

This means that the collaboration has surpassed over 3 million in sales and streams after it was first released back in 2014 on Guetta‘s Listen album.

David Guetta Explains How Light My Body Up Came Together, Talks Working With Nicki Minaj & Lil Wayne

Last month, Billboard Dance caught up with David Guetta during Miami Music Week to chat all about his new single “Light My Body Up” featuring Nicki Minaj and Lil Wayne.

At the start of their interview (see below), David spoke on how “Light My Body Up” came together, what it was like working with Nicki and Wayne, and more.

“I think she sounds better than she ever sounded on any record, killing the vocals, very proud of the progression.”

Guetta also revealed that he has always thought Minaj was the best rapper out of females and males, as well as how the Barbie surprised him with Weezy vocals on “Light My Body Up“!

Nicki Minaj On Set Of David Guetta Light My Body Up Video Shoot, Reveals She Surprised Him With The Lil Wayne Verse

A week ago, David Guetta shot a music video for his “Light My Body Up” single with Nicki Minaj and Lil Wayne in Miami, Florida.

In a Twitter Q&A, the Barbie also revealed how she surprised Guetta by sending him the song back with a Weezy verse on it as he was not expecting it: “I was on it then decided to ask Wayne. He said yes, did it right away. then I sent it to David as a surprise.”

A few days ago, David Guetta participated in an interview while he was in Tokyo, Japan, which you can check out below.

During the conversation, David spoke on how he thinks Nicki Minaj is “amazing”, being “obsessed” with her, both of them being single, and more.

Guetta also revealed that him and Nicki are working on a new record that will be “pretty huge”, as well as that people will be very impressed with the way she is singing on the song!

Drake Receives 11 & Nicki Minaj Earns 1 Nomination At The 2016 Billboard Music Awards

Yesterday, the finalists for the 2016 Billboard Music Awards were announced and Young Money’s Drake and Nicki Minaj both picked up nominations. This year’s awards show will be hosted by Ludacris and Ciara at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada on May 22nd.

Drizzy earned 11 nominations in the categories: “Top Artist”, “Top Male Artist”, “Top Billboard 200 Artist”, “Top Hot 100 Artist”, “Top Song Sales Artist”, “Top Streaming Songs Artist”, “Top Rap Artist”, “Top Rap Album”, “Top Streaming Song”, and “Top Rap Song”.

The Barbie picked up 1 nomination in the “Top Dance/Electronic Song” category for David Guetta’s “Hey Mama” single. If you are wondering how Billboard choose their finalists, it is explained below. Nicki Minaj Wins An Award At The 31st Annual International Dance Music Awards

The 31st annual International Dance Music Awards took place during the 2016 Winter Music Conference right before the Ultra Music Festival in Miami, Florida on March 18th.

Nicki Minaj won an award in the category “Best Rap/Hip Hop/Trap Dance Track” with David Guetta, Bebe Rexha, and Afrojack for their “Hey Mama” collaboration.

Unfortunately, Drake and Lil Wayne didn’t win any of the awards they were nominated for at the yearly electronic music conference. Congratulations to the Barbie!
