Mack Maine, is always moving. When I first meet him standing amid the ruins of the Young Money stage set he will not be still; he’s too busy and that’s a good thing — too busy crafting clever rhymes, to “build his brand.” Maine’s Doofus cum Cyrano de Bergerac verse at the end of this summer’s stalwart hate it or love it record “(I Wish I could Fuck) Every Girl in the World” has made sure that even if you don’t know the man’s name you know his punchline: “In about three years, holla at me Miley Cyrus.” But get up on this cat now, with an impressive array of mixtapes, and his mind right, it will be nothing for Mack Maine to turn the corner from Doofus to Dark Horse. Westword caught up with the president of Young Money Entertainment last night backstage at Fiddler’s Green during KS-107.5′s Back to School Jam and asked him about working with Lil Wayne and getting his start as a battle rapper. Drake returned to the America’s Most Wanted Music Festival last night, just five days after injuring his knee.
“Look, I wanna say one thing,” Drizzy told the crowd. “Before every show I’ve ever seen this man do, the greatest entertainer I’ll ever witness. Make some noise for Lil Wayne. Now listen up, before every show he does, he tells the crowd to make some noise for what they’ve created. My man, I just wanna shake your hand for what you do…”
Unfortunately, Drizzy won’t be returning back to the tour because of his injury, and he only performed in Toronto last night because he couldn’t let his city down now, could he? Hit the jump for to see Lil Wayne, Drake and Trey Songz perform “Successful“, “Best I Ever Had” and “Every Girl“.
Last night, (August 2) Chris Brown joined Young Money on stage at the America’s Most Wanted concert to perform “Every Girl” live. Chris sung the chorus to the song and even did a special tribute to Michael Jackson which can be watched here.
Above, you can see Young Money perform their hit single “Every Girl” at the America’s Most Wanted tour in Jones Beach, NY last night. ObviouslyDrake wasn’t their to perform his verse and for some reason, Mack didn’t perform his. Click more below to see the bootylicious Nicki Minaj perform some of her hits:

In one of hip-hop’s most drawn-out bidding wars, Drake has finally inked a deal with Universal Republic, according to Young Money’s Cortez Bryant.
Bryant says the Toronto rapper was already signed to Young Money Entertainment, but signed his distribution deal on Sunday. “We were looking for all the creative control and all the say-so over the project,” said Bryant, “the person who gave us the sweetest deal.”
Drake, who Bryant says is ecstatic about the signing, will appear on one of two follow-up singles to Young Money’s hit “Every Girl,” slated to drop in the next two weeks.
Drake’s debut album, Thank Me Later, has no release date, but Bryant says the Young Money group album is expected to drop late this year, on the same day as Lil Wayne’s Rebirth.
