Drake Speaks On Sprite Commercial

Drizzy tells Billboard that for his Sprite commercial, he needed his mans-n-them to help capture the moment. “The day we were shooting they had generic extras in this beautiful set they had created. I told them, ‘look, honestly, this is not really how I record. My recording sessions don’t look like a part —we actually come to work’,” says Drake. “To make it a genuine studio moment I asked if 40 and Boy Wonder could be a part of it— they are key elements behind my creative process. To have all three of us in the commercial was a glorious moment for me.”

Drake & Eminem Talking About Another Collaboration

It looks like the planned March release for Drake’s hotly anticipated official debut LP, Thank Me Later, may not happen. It’s already February and the 23-year old said he’s still recording his opus.

“Not yet,” Drake said Sunday night at the red carpet of the Grammy Awards, when asked if he was done recording. “I got a couple more things.”

One of those things has the potential to be a blockbuster: Drizzy and Eminem may have a follow-up to “Forever,” which the pair performed with Lil Wayne and drummer Travis Barker at the Grammys.

“Me and Em talked about something today,” Drake revealed. “We might need that to happen.”

As for the official first single from the album, the Young Money franchise player is ruminating on it.

“I’m gonna figure that out this week and it should be coming in a week or two,” he said. “It’s all coming soon. I won’t take too long.”

Drake Has The Perfect Track For Jay-Z

Drake’s full-length debut Thank Me Later is not even complete yet, but Drizzy already knows which song he wants Jay-Z to appear on. Their potential collaboration, titled “Light Up,” was recorded last week with Toronto production team Tone Mason and Drake’s go-to guy Noah “40” Shebib.

“It’s crazy. I’m really, really, really excited about it,” the 23-year-old Canadian tells Rap-Up TV. “I managed to get this rap record with this crazy hook in the lane of ‘Forever,’ but not really. It’s that type of triumphant feel though.”

He also speaks about going into the studio with Kanye West over the holidays and releasing his first single at the top of 2010.
