Drake Receives First Grammy Award For “Best Rap Album”, Performs With J. Cole [Videos]

June 23, 2013 by Danny M

Above, you can watch Drake opening a package in his home that happens to be his first Grammy award, which he won last year for Take Care winning “Best Rap Album”. This award category did not make the television set of the GRAMMYs, so that is why Drizzy is only receiving the award now.

Before Drake will put it in his mother’s house, him and his October’s Very Own crew including Chubbs, Noah “40” Shebib, CJ Gibson, Oliver El-Khatib, Future The Prince, and Mark all use the trophy as a cup and take shots out of it to celebrate!

In other Drizzy Drake news, hit the jump to view another clip of J. Cole bringing him out at the Irving Plaza in New York City on June 19th. This video is awesome, because it was filmed from on stage behind Cole and Drake performing “No New Friends” and “Started From The Bottom“.

Nicki Minaj Interviews With DETAILS & VIBE Magazine

April 20, 2010 by Danny M

VIBE Magazine recently caught up with Nicki Minaj who had some interesting advice for the non-Nicki fans, what she loved about her “Massive Attack” video, and her plan to focus more on her music. Also, check out Nicki‘s interview with DETAILS Magazine below were they speak about her fans, being gay in Hip Hop, her Father, sending Lil Wayne a gift in prison, how much she gets paid to do a feature, and plenty more:

Q: What can women get away with in hip-hop that men can’t?
A: I have a lot of freedom to be crazy. I can rap in a London accent, make weird faces, wear spandex, wigs, and black lipstick. I can be more creative than the average male rapper. And I can show my boobs. Guys can’t do that.

Q: You sign your fans’ breasts at shows. Do their boyfriends get jealous?
A: If anything, boys are telling me to sign their girls’ boobs. I’ve gone through 15 markers in a single night—because the girls are usually sweating, and a marker will stop writing if the girls are wet.

Q: As an openly bisexual rapper, do you think hip-hop is getting more gay-friendly?
A: I think the world is getting more gay-friendly, so hip-hop is too. But it’s harder to imagine an openly gay male rapper being embraced. People view gay men as having no street credibility. But I think we’ll see one in my lifetime.
