After the American Idol season 12 finale last night, Nicki Minaj took part in an interview backstage with the press. The Young Money Barbie spoke on why she did not perform on the show, if she thinks Candice Glover deserved to win, and when she will start work on her upcoming studio album.
Nicki also mentioned that American Idol were supposed to premiere her “High School” music video on the show, but they thought it was too “risky”, and that she will be featured on tons of new songs dropping in the summer!
Nicki Minaj graces the front cover Teen Vogue magazine’s June/July issue. As well as taking part in a photo shoot, Nicki also took part in an interview with the magazine were she compared the music industry to high school, talked growing up, and social media.

Yesterday, Nicki Minaj shot a music video for her new single “High School” featuring her Young Money boss, Lil Wayne. The visual is being directed by Benny Boom, who is the same person that also directed Nicki‘s “Pound The Alarm“, “Right By My Side” and “Beez In The Trap” visuals.

In the video above, Nicki Minaj confirms to MTV that the next single she will be shooting a music video for off her Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded – The Re-Up album is “High School” featuring her boss Lil Wayne.
The Young Money Barbie also mentioned that she would be starting work on her new album out in Los Angeles, California while she shoots American Idol.
