Recently, GlobalGrind had the chance to talk to Short Dawg about how Lil Wayne has changed from his release from prison, whether or not he feels pressure to live up to the success of Drake and Nicki Minaj, and plenty more! You can read the full interview below:

GlobalGrind: How did you meet Lil Wayne and how did you get down with Young Money?

Short Dawg: I met Wayne around 3 years ago through Mack Maine – Mack and I were cool, we did a couple of songs together, so he introduced me to Wayne and we just hit it off. It was a basic friendship, and after we started kicking it, we did a couple of songs, and while he was building his Young Money brand he asked me to come be a part of it, and the rest is history.

“My big brother just got home, Weezy F. Baby,” Twist told MTV News from Atlanta. “We did it real big in Miami as soon as he touched down. I actually missed the show he did with Drake in Vegas, but as soon as he did, we partied like crazy. It was a very emotional and fun moment, man, because everybody was there, the whole Cash Money label and Young Money was there. We did it big, and he was just happy to be home, and it felt good.”

Now that Weezy is home, it’s back to business. “Right now, I am working on my debut album, Don’t Get it Twisted,” Twist said. “I actually went back into the album, I was done with it, and I went to Birdman with it, and he loved the album. But I wanted to go back in and get a few more songs by myself. I got a lot of collaborations on the album, so that’s what I’m doing right now.”

Above, Nicki Minaj stops by 102.7 KIIS FM’s New Music Show with DJ Skee and speaks about Lil Wayne‘s release from Rikers Island. Nicki says she has spoke to Wayne since he was released on November 4th and can’t wait to party with him tomorrow (Sunday, 6th November). She also talks about Young Money’s success and because Weezy wasn’t around to record a verse for her Pink Friday album, she would like to get him to the studio and get him to record a remix for one of the tracks or the whole album haha.

MMN: So, it must be a pretty big day for you. Are you on edge waiting for Wayne’s release?

LT: Oh man, you don’t even understand how exciting it is. It’s been a long time coming it seems like, but it kinda came by pretty quick, when I look at it now.

MMN: What’s the first thing you’re going to want to do or say when you see him for the first time?

LT: I’m going to make sure that I tell him that I love him, and I’m going to make sure that he sees everything I’ve done. All the progress that Young Money made as a team, and that just to make sure that he’s proud.
