Cory Gunz Talks Upcoming Projects, Young Money, The Rap Game, His Father Peter Gunz & More

Last month, Cory Gunz appeared on the Let’s Get This Over With podcast with TTS (Talk That Shit) for a 1-hour interview, to spit a freestyle, and to offer advice for any upcoming music artists.

During their conversation, the Gunna spoke with hosts C-Jones, SlyThatGuy, T.C., BigZ, and Nicky Sinz about being signed to Young Money, who he considers a “legend” in the rap game, influences, his father Peter Gunz, motivation, who he still wants to work with, and plenty more.

Cory also discussed his upcoming Kriminal Minded EP that will be paying homage to KRS-One (says there is no date yet but it will be worth the wait), his upcoming Timbs & Hoodies mixtape (says it will drop any day now), and his upcoming 2 Gunz Up joint project with his pops. Drake Says An OVOXO Collaboration Project With The Weeknd Has To Happen

Drake didn’t only announce he is working on a new album at his 8th annual OVO Fest in Toronto on August 7th, he also told the crowd that an OVO and XO joint project with The Weeknd “has to happen”.

After performing their “Crew Love” collaboration live at the concert, the 6 God mentioned on the mic: “I don’t want to do this to you on stage, but I feel like that OVOXO project has to happen at some point. I just want to say that.”

Cory Gunz Reveals When He Plans To Drop Kriminal Minded EP & Talks 2 Gunz Up Collaboration Project With His Father Peter Gunz

Cory Gunz recently chopped it up with XXL to give updates on his Kriminal Minded EP, his debut studio album, and a collaboration project called 2 Gunz Up with his father Peter Gunz.

The Young Money Gunna revealed he is still working on his Kriminal Minded, he is trying to release it on the anniversary of KRS-One‘s Criminal Minded album, what he has learned from his pops, and mentioned his “174th” song will appear on the EP.

Dat KiD K.I. aka ZoeRaldo from The King Indeed recently chopped it up with Cory Gunz for a one on one interview that you can watch below.

During their conversation, the Gunna spoke on how satisfied he is in the music industry, what motivates him, which music artists he would like to work with, how it was growing up in The Bronx, upcoming projects, if he will be doing a collaboration project with his father Peter Gunz, how it feels to be signed to Young Money, and more.

Cory also mentioned that his boss Lil Wayne is one of his “favorite rappers ever” and one of the “dopest MCs” he has ever heard in his life, as well as that one of the first albums he ever bought was a Wayne CD!

While out in London on his “The Boy Meets World” tour, Drake chopped it up with DJ Semtex for a one-on-one interview. You can listen to the audio of their conversation below, but check back on Monday to watch a video of the full interview.

During their lengthy conversation, Drizzy spoke on realizing his turning point in the music industry was when Lil Wayne rapped his “Money To Blow” verse live at the MTV Video Music Awards, working with Wayne, his So Far Gone mixtape, ghostwriting for Dr. Dre, and his Views album.

The 6 God also discussed his “One Dance single, why he released “Pop Style” at the same time, how he discovered Kyla‘s original song, racism, why he doesn’t want his 2 new Grammy awards, Quentin Miller, his beef with Meek Mill, people thinking he stole the flow of XXXTENTACION, why More Life is a playlist and not an album, Skepta, UK rap, Giggs, his OVO Sound Radio show, and Santan Dave.

Throughout the interview, Drizzy Drake even revealed that he has distanced himself from Kanye West after he brought up his and DJ Khaled‘s name in a rant and so they are no longer working on a joint project, can not see him and Meek ever being friends, and thinks the best rappers are in London!

Drake Teases Collaboration Album With Kanye West

Yesterday, Drake teased his and Kanye West‘s upcoming collaboration album by sharing the picture above on his Instagram page with a caption: “There goes the neighborhood”.

Yeezy‘s manager, Scooter Braun, also left a comment on the photo saying: “It begins…” with four clapping emojis and if anyone would know anything about the joint project, it would be Scooter.

This collaboration project from Drizzy and Kanye has been teased all throughout 2016 and more recently in the summer when West asked the crowd at OVO Fest if they are ready to hear a joint album from them, as well as when they added billboards up around Los Angeles.

The biggest confirmation of all comes from Kanye West when he mentioned in an interview in September that him and the 6 God are indeed working on an album together. As of right now, there is no release date for the project, but Drizzy Drake still plans to drop More Life in December!
