The 2016 MTV Video Music Awards took place on Sunday (August 28th) at the Madison Square Garden in New York City and Drake won 1 award at the show.
Drizzy was nominated for 5 awards at this year’s VMAs, but the 1 award he did win was in the “Best Hip-Hop Video” category for his “Hotline Bling” visual, so congratulations to him on that!
Unfortunately, the 6 God was stuck in traffic when they announced he had won his award, so as he only turned up late to the awards show, he couldn’t say a speech. However, you can watch him present Rihanna with a Video Vanguard Award here!

Yesterday at the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards in New York City, Drake made an appearance to present Rihanna with the the Video Vanguard Award (also known as the Lifetime Achievement Award), which is given out every year by MTV to honor a music artists’ body of work.
For his speech, Drizzy spoke on the first time he met Robyn Fenty (Rihanna’s government name), being in love with her since he was 22-years-old, why she is a legend, how he looks up to her even though he is older, and more.

Nicki Minaj has been announced as an official live performer at this year’s MTV Video Music Awards, which will be airing live from the Madison Square Garden in New York City this Sunday (August 28th) at 9PM EST.
MTV revealed the news on their official VMAs Twitter account along with a 1-minute video of Ariana Grande talking about creativity, so more than likely they will perform their “Side To Side” collaboration live.

The fourth and final “Summer Sixteen” tour stop at the Madison Square Garden in New York took place on August 8th.
During the concert, Drake brought out plenty of special guests including Juelz Santana and Cam’rom (Dipset), T.I., Fat Joe, Remy Ma, Future, and J. Cole.
