GQ recently sat down with Drizzy to discuss his Take Care album, coming up with the album title while in Birmingham, England, some of the lyrics from songs on the album, So Far Gone, Thank Me Later, the perfect girl for Drake, sweaters, why the “Fancy” music video was never released, and the Lil Wayne vs. Jay-Z beef. Hit the jump to read the full interview!
Above, you can watch a video of Drake performing live last night (January 7) at the HMV Hammersmith Apollo in London, England. Drizzy performed songs like “Forever“, “Miss Me“, “Single“, “What’s My Name“, and plenty more. It looked like a crazy night and I wish I was there! Shouts to my bro Dan Rios for the footage.
ForeverMillz.com just posted up part two of Jae Millz‘ “Finish The Year Right” freestyle! This time Millzy goes in over all of YMCMB‘s hottest instrumentals this year, such as: “Roman’s Revenge“, “I Don’t Like The Look Of It“, “Miss Me“, “I’m On It“, “Fire Flame“, “Light Up“, “Bill Gates“, and “6 Foot, 7 Foot“. You can listen and download this dope track below:
“Everybody around me was just playin’ me, including Wayne,” Drake told MTV News in an exclusive post-show interview. “I talked to him on the phone and he was like, ‘I’ll see you in Miami. I got my party. I hope you make it.’ So I hit ‘Tez who manages me and Wayne and I said, ‘You’re not coming to the last show?’ And he was like, ‘No man, can’t make it.’ That’s how I hit the stage tonight. I got no surprises for these people. They all think Wayne is coming and he’s not coming.”
“After the hook of ‘Miss Me,’ ” Drake said, “I heard … Wayne’s verse. I didn’t quite know what was going on. I looked back and there’s the man. I jumped higher than I’ve ever jumped in my entire life.” – MTV
If you missed Lil Wayne coming out for Drake‘s “Miss Me” performance, then you can watch it here! Also, hit the jump to watch Drizzy speak about his “Light Dreams & Nightmares” tour and expecting to hit the studio soon with Tunechi.
Drizzy Drake performed at Kodak’s campaign show in New York City on October 5th, and you can check out parts of his performance in the video above. Drake performs “9AM In Dallas“, “Up All Night“, “Show Me A Good Time“, “Say Something“, “Miss Me“, “Fancy“, and “Right Above It” in honor of Lil Wayne. Props to RTNY!
After the jump, you can watch some behind the scenes footage from Rick Ross‘ “Aston Martin Music” music video with Drake, Birdman and DJ Khaled all on set.
You can watch a video above of a few of the Young Money artists (Mack Maine, Gudda Gudda, Jae Millz, Short Dawg, Lil Chuckee, Lil Twist & Cory Gunz) on the set of Drake’s “Miss Me” video shoot. Shouts to Gutta TV, and Mack Maine ended up kicking and chasing a rapper off the set lol.
Yesterday, Drake shot the music video for his “Miss Me” single featuring Lil Wayne(who shot his parts before he went to jail). Most of the Young Money crew made cameos, and the video was directed by Anthony Mandler and shot in Atlanta. Drizzy is shooting the music video for “Fancy” featuring Swizz Beatz and T.I. today too, so I wonder if both videos will come together as one
