After getting a hint 2 weeks ago, MTV have now confirmed the news that the Barbie will be opening up this year’s VMAs show. It’s also rumored that one of the songs Nicki will be performing is her new single “Trini Dem Girls“.
As well as opening up the awards show, Minaj is also up for 4 nominations (“Best Female Video, “Best Hip-Hop Video”, “Best Collaboration”, and “Best Song Of The Summer”), so hopefully she will be leaving with a few “Moonman” awards!
Last month, we got news that Nicki Minaj was nominated 3 times at the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards (see what awards they are here), and now she has received another nomination in a new category that MTV have just added. That will count as 1 vote and the winner will be revealed during the pre-show of this year’s VMAs that is taking place from L.A. Live’s Microsoft Theater in California on Sunday, August 30th from 8PM EST!
Nicki Minaj is carrying on promoting her latest studio album, The Pinkprint, by releasing a brand new single from the project that will most likely have a music video shot for it.
According to HHNM, Nicki will be following up to her “The Night Is Still Young” single by making the catchy “Trini Dem Girls” song featuring LunchMoney Lewis her new single.
Later this month, the Young Money Barbie will also be performing “Trini Dem Girls” live at the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards on August 30th!
