After the American Idol season 12 finale last night, Nicki Minaj took part in an interview backstage with the press. The Young Money Barbie spoke on why she did not perform on the show, if she thinks Candice Glover deserved to win, and when she will start work on her upcoming studio album.
Nicki also mentioned that American Idol were supposed to premiere her “High School” music video on the show, but they thought it was too “risky”, and that she will be featured on tons of new songs dropping in the summer!

Nicki Minaj recently phoned into Atlanta’s Hot 107.9 radio station yesterday to chop it up with Emperor Searcy, Mz Shyneka and Mr. Smith.
The Young Money Barbie spoke on Gucci Mane and his problems, cooking, reality TV, American Idol, and more. Minaj also confirmed that will be not be going on a full tour this year, so she can concentrate working on her upcoming studio album!
Shanell recently spoke to VIBE about her “Throwback Thursday” cover series, her forthcoming debut studio album, being a female signed to Young Money, her sister D. Woods, if she would ever be open to do a reality TV show, and more.

After premiering her “High School” music video featuring Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj chopped it up with MTV to talk about how working with music artists such as Future allow her to keep changing instead of just focusing on one voice or sound.
The Young Money Barbie also confirmed that she does have an upcoming collaboration with Future, which Mack Maine first mentioned 2 weeks ago on RapFix, and that she thinks Future‘s music reminds her of her mixtape music.
