Nicki Minaj recently sat down with MTV for an interview about being a judge on American Idol. During the interview, Nicki mentioned that her and Mariah Carey have “been fine” on the show together.
“It’s been a new experience for me. And it’s just been interesting for me to have a 9 to 5 job. I haven’t done that in such a long time. I haven’t had to come somewhere and do a specific thing. I’ve been kind of creating my own schedule for the last few years, so it’s interesting, but I love the people there, so that makes it OK.”
“We’ve seen some amazing, talented people and, you know, they’ve kind of just been a breath of fresh air ’cause you don’t know what lies ahead for them. You’re meeting them first; one of these people is gonna be a superstar very soon.”
In related news, the Young Money Barbie also took part in a game of “What Would Nicki Do?“, which you can watch a sneak peek of after the jump below. Minaj answers questions such as “what would happen if her cook messed up”, “what would happen if her boyfriend cheated on her”, “what would she say if someone came up to her and wanted to rap battle”, “what would she say to a person who could not sing on American Idol” with her alter egos – Nicki, Roman, and Onika.
Above, you can watch Drake‘s second skit at the 2011 Juno Awards that were held in Toronto, Canada on March 27. In this skit, Drizzy and Justin Bieber chat on Skype and even end up singing a duet together.
Young Money‘s Drake has confirmed recent reports of his debut album, Thank Me Later, being led by a The-Dream collaboration single and dropping around early next year.
“I’m able to walk around, so I’m working very hard on the album,” he revealed in an interview. “I’ve been out of the scene for so long because I’ve been off my leg…Sitting at home in your apartment and having a doctor come over every day and eating healthy and going to the gym — there’s not much of a rap album to be made off that. I have to get my inspiration and start seeing things and going to dinners and meeting people again and just finding stories to tell for this album. I’m trying to make something timeless…[It’s] an R&B song…It’s sexy. It’s slow, but there’s an energy to it. I rap on it. Me and Dream both sing on it. It’s cool. [It has a] message that’s never really been explored by male singers. This song is sort of like an anthem for women, like pre-the club. It’s like an anthem for you to be at your house with your girlfriends getting ready, what you listen to before you get there.”
