“I’ve learned a lot over the past five years from my brother Lil Wayne, seeing him on tour since I was very young,” Lil Twist told MTV News. “So you’re going to see a lot of energy like he gives at his shows. Not the same, but a lot of swag.”

Being a member of Young Money has made Twist privy to an early listen of Weezy’s upcoming mixtape, Sorry For the Wait. “It’s amazing, it’s great, it’s outstanding,” Twist said of the project, which Wayne is releasing to appease fans since his proper album, Tha Carter IV, has been delayed numerous times. “And, he’s rapping. He’s going in and y’all are gonna love it.”

Twist revealed he’s also heard all of Weezy’s album, now scheduled to drop August 29. “I’ve heard it all,” Twist said. “Yes, we’re in the studio every day, every night, till the morning, till sun up in Miami, so I’ve heard it all.”

Lil Twist himself will be rapping on one or both of Weezy’s forthcoming projects. He revealed the name the song he appears on: “It’s called ‘Flowers.’ I can say it may make the mixtape, it may not. Because it’s for C4, and it’s also for Sorry For the Wait. It’ll make either one, maybe both.” – MTV

Gudda Gudda recently spoke on Lil Wayne‘s upcoming Tha Carter IV album, and what the fans can expect to hear:

“I think it’s going to be big and I’m not just saying that because he’s my homie,” Gudda Gudda told SOHH when asked about the delayed project. “I’m just being honest. I think it’s going to be big and it can match up to what Tha Carter III did. The expectations are really big and it’s going to be really big for hip-hop when it finally comes out.”

Double G also gave props to other rap crews for the efforts to elevate hip hop music:

“I ain’t going to say hip-hop ain’t exciting right now because it is,” Gudda Gudda added. “You have people like Eminem and Shady Records making a lot of noise. You have the artists on G.O.O.D. Music making a lot of noise. Maybach Music really came out of nowhere and is making a gang of noise. It’s very exciting right now but I think Wayne’s getting ready to put that shit out there that we need. It’s good music. He’s going to drop that album and it’s going to get crazy.”

Billboard recently spoke to Nicki Minaj about her upcoming tour with Britney Spears this summer, the follow up to Pink Friday, and Lil Wayne’s Tha Carter IV album:

“People think Spears is a pop tour and Lil Wayne was a hip-hop tour and Nicki’s going to completely change — I think that’s the biggest misconception,” Minaj tells Billboard.com. “I think people don’t understand that I remain myself, whether I’m on a hip-hop tour or a pop tour.”
