The First Week Sales For More Life Are In, Drake Is Now Tied With Eminem & Kanye West For Second Most No 1 Albums

The first week sales for Drake‘s More Life playlist are in! According to Nielsen Music, the project has moved around 505,000 units since first being released on March 18th, so a big congratulations to the 6 God is in order.

Breaking down the 505,000 number, there were 257,000 sales from streaming equivalent albums, 226,000 from traditional album sales, and 23,000 from TEA units.

As More Life also went No. 1 on Billboard’s Top 200 Albums chart, this is now Drizzy‘s seventh No. 1 album of his career, which makes him tied with Eminem and Kanye West for the second most No. 1 projects in hip-hop. Jay Z is in the lead with a total of 13.

Drake Views Is No 1 On Billboard Top 200 Albums Chart For 12 Non Consecutive Weeks

Drake‘s VIEWS album has stayed put at No. 1 on Billboard‘s “Top 200 Albums” chart after earning another 85,000 sales this past week (including streams).

This is now the twelfth non-consecutive week VIEWS has been in the top spot, which means the 6 God is 1 week away from surpassing the Frozen soundtrack that was No. 1 for thirteen-weeks back in 2014.

The very last male music artist to spend more than twelve weeks at No. 1 was Billy Ray Cyrus with his Some Gave All album back in 1992. He spent a total of seventeen-weeks in the top spot, so hopefully Drizzy can get to that same achievement!

Drake Views Is No 1 On Billboard Top 200 Albums Chart For 11 Non Consecutive Weeks

For the eleventh non-consecutive week, Drake‘s VIEWS album remains at No. 1 on Billboard’s “Top 200 Albums” chart after selling around 89,000 copies (including streams)!

The last project to spend 11 weeks in the top spot was Taylor Swift’s 1989 album last year. However, the last album that was No. 1 for more than 11 weeks was the Frozen soundtrack back in 2014 with 13 weeks, so do you think Drizzy can surpass that?

Drake Views Is Back No 1 On Billboard Top 200 Albums Chart For The Tenth Non Consecutive Week

Since being replaced at No. 1 last week by Blink-182 on Billboard‘s “Top 200 Albums” chart, Drake‘s VIEWS album is now back in the top spot this week after selling around 92,000 copies (plus streams).

This means VIEWS has been No. 1 for ten non-consecutive weeks and it is only the tenth album to do so in the last 20 years! Drizzy now has the most weeks at No. 1 with a solo project by a male music artist since Billy Ray Cyrus’ Some Gave All album did 17-weeks in the top spot back in 1992.

VIEWS is also the highest-selling album released in 2016 with around 1.34 million units sold so far. The 6 God‘s project is just behind Adele’s 25 album, which was released in 2015, to be the biggest-selling album this year as that has around 1.44 million units sold in 2016.

Drake‘s VIEWS album is still currently No. 1 on Billboard‘s “Top 200 Albums” chart, which now makes it nine consecutive weeks that it has been in the top slot! In other words, since VIEWS dropped it has been No. 1 every single week!

Drake‘s VIEWS album is No. 1 again this week on Billboard‘s “Top 200 Albums” chart, which makes it six consecutive weeks that it has been in the top spot!
