While on the red carpet at the 55th Annual GRAMMY Awards, Drake speaks to E!‘s Ryan Seacrest about his GRAMMY award-winning album, Take Care, and if he takes credit for inventing the term “YOLO”. He also announced the title of his forthcoming third studio album, Nothing Was The Same, due to be released later this year.
Hit the jump to watch another interview that took place on the red carpet between Fuse and Drizzy. During this interview, Drake talks about winning his first ever GRAMMY award, how he reacted to it, and introduces his Uncle Steve that he talks about on his “Started From The Bottom” single: “And my uncle calling me like ‘Where ya at?’; I gave you the keys, told ya bring it right back”.
Late last year, Drake and Rick Ross both confirmed that they would release a collaboration project called YOLO (an acronym for You Only Live Once) and have already started recording tracks for it. While there has been no news on the project for a little while, Drizzy recently spoke to MTV about YOLO and says it is still happening, but it might have to get a name change because “YOLO” is so attached to “The Motto“.
“That title has become so… it’s like an epidemic. So I hope by the time we finish it, it would still hold weight and substance,” Drake told MTV News correspondent Sway Calloway of the mixtape title, which stands for “You Only Live Once.” “We might have to call it something different now ’cause that’s just so attached to ‘The Motto.’ “
I posted a preview of Drake getting “Punk’d” by Ashton Kutcherlast week, now here is the full episode that aired on TV yesterday. Drizzy thought he was going to meet the Vice President of the United States of America, but instead he gets trapped in a car with his manager who set him up, CJ Gibson, in a parking garage when an earthquake hits. A pregnant woman also comes out of a nearby door and gets tasered by her husband by accident, leaving Drizzy Drake looking extremely worried.
This was hilarious, I can’t lie! Everything from Drizzy‘s face, to the secret service driver saying “YOLO”, to Drake saying he called his mother at the end had me laughing.
Check out Drake‘s reaction from getting “Punk’d” below:
Tim Westwood chopped it up with Drake out in London last week, while Drizzy has been taking his “Club Paradise” tour around the UK. In the video above, Drake does a freestyle for Westwood and after the jump, you can watch their interview.
On December 17th, Drake performed at Stevie Wonder‘s House Full Of Toys benefit concert in Los Angeles. You can watch some footage of Drizzy performing “Best I Ever Had” above, courtesy of Rap-Up!
After the jump, Drake speaks to MTV about his upcoming collaboration project with Rick Ross titled YOLO.
Drake recently revealed with XXL that him and Rick Ross have been talking about recording a collabo mixtape called YOLO, which is short for You Only Live Once. There is currently no release date for this project yet, but Drizzy said he wants to drop the tape without any warning or hype, so it will be a surprise for us fans!
“I have been working on a mixtape with Ross,” Drake said. “A mixtape called Y.O.L.O. That means ‘You Only Live Once’. I’ve been working on that for the last couple of weeks. We haven’t really connected because he’s been going through this thing with his health. I’ve been stashing my little beats and verses.”
